What a crazy week. Work, school, and being a mother can surely take alot out of you. I have to keep reminding myself that everything I do is for my family and that helps me keep moving. I work to help support my family financially and I go to school to better my self. I have this addiction to leaning. I do not think I will ever be fully satisfied it I was set in a monotonous routine without any chance to learn something new. The power of knowledge is one of the greatest gifts. You can do so much if you really put your time and effort into it. What is life worth if you didn't follow your dreams and giver it all you have?

  1. I love your page. It is so pretty. Mine is kind of plain. Oh well. I wanted to comment on your presentation. I think we use reflection in action more than we realize. As we are doing things as nurses, we are always thinking back to our previous experiences and using those to guide us. Sometimes I think we do this unconsciously once we have a great deal of experience. It is kind of like Benner's from Novice to Expert theory. We use our past experiences, our intuition that we have gained from them to guide us. That is why it is hard sometimes for an expert nurse to explain exactly why they do things. All of the experiences create a knowledge base that we constantly reflect back on. For unexperienced, new nurses they do not have this knowledge base. All they know is what they were told and what the book says. So they are more concrete, following steps one by one. If you tell them they don't have to do it the exact way the book says, they are at odds with this because they have no experience to reflect back on.
Was it hard to find information on this for your presentation? Just curious...
